What Margin is

Margin watches the signals your product already has — a rage click, an exit halfway through a step, an error your monitoring caught — and asks the one person who just hit it a single question, in the product, while it’s still fresh. Then it groups the replies into a Finding and drops it where you work. That’s the whole tool.

You also paste feedback you already have, like reviews, support notes, or an export, and you confirm you’re allowed to share it with us.

Who can use it

You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you can’t use Margin to break the law or someone else’s rights. Install it on a product you actually run — not on a site you don’t control.

What you ask is on you

You write the questions. That means you’re responsible for them — keep them honest, and don’t use them to fish for personal data. Asking a user for their email, full name, card number, or password through a Margin question is against these terms. We put a linter in the question editor that warns you when a question drifts that way, but the call is yours.

You also tell your own users about Margin. Our first-encounter consent strip does most of the work, but your privacy policy should mention that you use it.

The honest state of things

We’re building in the open for World Product Day 2026. Margin works and we run it on our own product every day — but it’s provided as-is, without warranties, and we’re not liable for what you decide to ship after reading a Finding. If something breaks or reads wrong, tell us; that’s the deal during the build, and we mean the “tell us” part.
